Created:  Sunday, September 2, 2007
Updated:  Saturday, May 17, 2008

Anne Minard is a science writer and journalism instructor living in Flagstaff, Arizona. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master's degree, also in biology, from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She's written about science on the staffs of several newspapers and most recently as a freelance journalist. Minard's writing has appeared in the Arizona Daily Sun, the Arizona Daily Star, the New York Times, Science magazine, the L. A. Times, Arizona Highways and numerous smaller publications. Northland Publishing
released her first book, "Pluto and Beyond," in April of 2007. In addition, she recently completed a grant-funded research and education project for NAU’s Center for Sustainable Environments focusing on Arizona’s heritage foods and agricultural tourism potential. She hopes to incorporate that work into a second book, about food festivals of the desert Southwest.
